The Ultimate 1-99 Herblore Guide in Old School RuneScape

Welcome to the ultimate 1-99 Herblore guide for Old School RuneScape! Herblore is a skill that allows players to create potions using various herbs and secondary ingredients. In this guide, we will take you through everything you need to know about leveling up your Herblore skill from level 1 to 99.

Getting Started

To begin your Herblore journey, you will need to gather some essential items:

  1. Grimy Herbs: You can obtain these by killing monsters or buying them from other players.
  2. Vials of Water: These can be obtained by purchasing empty vials from Herblore stores and filling them with water.
  3. Secondary Ingredients: Different potions require specific secondary ingredients, such as unicorn horns, snape grass, or crushed birds' nests. You can acquire them through various methods like farming, hunting, or purchasing from other players or shops.

Making Potions

Once you have gathered the necessary ingredients, it's time to start making potions. Here's a breakdown of the most efficient training methods and potion recipes for each level range:

Levels 1-5: Attack and Strength Potions

At lower levels, the best way to level Herblore is by creating Attack potions. To make an Attack potion, follow these steps:

  1. Gather guam leaves (bought or obtained by killing low-level monsters) and vials of water.
  2. Use a guam leaf on a vial of water to create an unfinished guam potion.
  3. Use an eye of newt on the unfinished guam potion to create an Attack potion.

Each Attack potion grants 25 experience, and you'll need approximately 30 potions to reach level 5.

Levels 5-12: Defence Potions

Once you reach level 5, it's recommended to switch to making Defence potions. Here's how to create them:

  1. Gather ranarr weed (bought or obtained by killing monsters) and vials of water.
  2. Use a ranarr weed on a vial of water to create an unfinished ranarr potion.
  3. Use an eye of newt on the unfinished ranarr potion to create a Defence potion.

Each Defence potion grants 75 experience, and you'll need around 70 potions to reach level 12.

Levels 12-26: Energy Potions

At level 12, you can start making Energy potions. These are highly useful for restoring run energy during gameplay. To create them:

  1. Gather harralander (bought or obtained by killing monsters) and chocolate dust.
  2. Use a harralander with a vial of water to create an unfinished harralander potion.
  3. Use chocolate dust on the unfinished harralander potion to create an Energy potion.

Each Energy potion grants 87.5 experience, and you'll need around 200 potions to reach level 26.

Levels 26-38: Prayer Potions

Once you reach level 26, it's time to make Prayer potions. These are in high demand and can be quite profitable. Follow these steps to create Prayer potions:

  1. Gather ranarr weed, snape grass (obtained from Waterbirth Island), and vials of water.
  2. Use a ranarr weed on a vial of water to create an unfinished ranarr potion.
  3. Add snape grass to the unfinished ranarr potion to create a Prayer potion.

Each Prayer potion grants 87.5 experience, and you'll need approximately 350 potions to reach level 38.

Levels 38-55: Super Attack Potions/Strength Potions

Once you hit level 38, you have two options: creating Super Attack potions or Super Strength potions. Here's how to make them:

Super Attack Potions:

  1. Gather irit leaves (obtained by killing monsters) and vials of water.
  2. Use an irit leaf on a vial of water to create an unfinished irit potion.
  3. Add an eye of newt to the unfinished irit potion to create a Super Attack potion.

Each Super Attack potion grants 100 experience, and you'll need around 1,600 potions to reach level 55.

Super Strength Potions:

  1. Gather kwuarm (obtained by killing monsters) and vials of water.
  2. Use a kwuarm with a vial of water to create an unfinished kwuarm potion.
  3. Add limpwurt root to the unfinished kwuarm potion to create a Super Strength potion.

Each Super Strength potion grants 125 experience, and
